Garda Vetting

All club roles that involve interaction with under-18s requires Garda Vetting for the person in that role.

Step 1: Log into Foireann

Log into your account on Foireann or create an account on www.foireann.ie

Step 2: Update the PROFILE section

Click on the Profile option on the left-hand side, then ‘Qualifications and Vetting’ at the top, then click ‘Apply to be Vetted’.

  • Ensure all fields in the PROFILE section are accurate.

  • The name and address in Foireann must match the ID documentation shown to the Children’s Officer (CO)

  • The Date of Birth and Eircode fields must be populated to progress the application

Step 3: Select your Club (Foxrock-Cabinteely GAA and the association to be vetted for (LGFA)).

Step 4: Select the role you are applying for.

  • Mentors/Academy Coaches select: ‘Coach or Manager with players 18 years and under’.

  • FLOs select: ‘Chaperone working with children.’

Step 5: Arrange a face-to-face meeting with the Children’s Officer (CO)

Email childrensofficer.foxrockcabinteely.dublin@lgfa.ie to arrange a meeting. At the meeting, you must have the following documents with you (Forms available to download below - scroll down)

  1. The NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form

  2. ID Validation form (to be filled out by CCO)

  3. Photo ID document (original)

  4. Proof of address document

Step 6: Upload documents to Foireann following meeting with CO

Documentation Required

1.      The NVB1 Vetting Invitation Form.

The applicant completes page 1. The form must contain a wet (handwritten) signature and the tick box to consent to be vetted. The CCO completes page 2 of the NVB1 form.

2.      One of the following photo ID documents (in date) is required. You must bring the original document with you to the meeting (not a photocopy)

  • Passport from county of citizenship.

  • Irish Driver’s License or Learner permit (new credit card format)

  • Irish certification of Naturalisation

  • National Identity Card (EU/EEA/Swiss).

The CO must sight an original copy of the ID document

3.      One of the following proof of address documents is required.

  • Bank statement from a recognised bank (excludes Revolut statements)

  • Building Society statement

  • Credit Union Passbook

  • Utility Bill (excludes mobile phone bills)

  • Correspondence from government departments

  • Letter from local council confirming residency

The Proof of Address must have been issued within the previous 6 months to be considered valid and show a clearly visible company header. Photocopies of original proof of address documents are acceptable.
